Great museum, story told in a simple way ideal for a family visit, if it’s good enough for Al Murray it’s good enough for me!

When English members have benefit to have free entry then why not. Let me enjoy. Excellent military based museum and well worth to have a look. Very well laid out with great displays and informative. Good location next to castle and inside the castle boundary. So why not try when you already visiting the Castle.

A small museum about the history of the regiments that were based here at the castle, very interesting exhibits to look at like Boer Wars and the two World Wars. They had a temporary exhibition about the 80th anniversary of the battle of Arnhem, which was nice to look through, and the museum café was lovely also. Plus, entry to the museum was included with our visit to the castle, which was an extra bonus.

A Great little museum. The museum relates to the history of Cumbria’s County Infantry Regiment, the Border Regiment and the King’s Own Royal Border Regiment and local Militia.
